Army of Two and the Fellowship of the Frog

 Gaming and reading

On last week's Friday, my lovely friendly friend Marju brought me some games to check out. I selected a few for my amusement and I shall pay them later. One of the well-kept 2nd hand games is the Army of Two. Pictured down below.

Earlier I toyed for a while with its demo and it amused me a bit. The full version amused me even more. Even the tutorial part of the full game amuses me a LOT. This surely is a whole lot of fun. Kinda dumb and twisted, but fun for sure.

Edgar Wallace has written lots of truckloads of adventure/crime/thriller/suspense/adventure books. There's quite a lot of material published in Finnish. The Fellowship of the Frog was published as Sammakon salaperäinen seura in Finland. The book I got from the library is a 2nd print and the print year is 1958. It is a very cathing thriller and detective adventure book with amazing many twists and turns. It is also witty and funny. There's some drama, melancholy, and sadness, too. So, yes, very Great read.

Biblioclash funded! Biblioclash tuli rahoitetuksi!

Jeehaa! Jiihaa! Above, there's a picture of the Biblioclash team at the Tracon Hitpoint convention in 2024. It was the first time when our paths crossed for the first time.  As most of my readers might know,  Biblioclash  is a Finnish card game project. They have been pretty active in showcasing their game in gaming cafeterias, gamer restaurants, gaming festivals, cons, and events. They have been in two events that I have arranged in Pispala Library this year. It has been great to notice how the game grows and gets better.  Biblioclash, the game showcase area is built in Pispala Library, January 2025. Obviously, I am happy to be able to say that the game  has now been funded! Cyberpunk movies to inspire your genre gaming (plus some gaming stuff, too!)

Cyberpunk is a cool genre of books, movies, tv-series, comics, cartoons, clothing style(s) and various types of games. As a roleplaying game moderator, who likes to make own adventures for roleplaying sessions, I find it useful to watch inspirational genre movies.... And because sharing is caring, I'll tell You  about feeeeeew movies and videos that are worth to watch... Hardware (1990) is now days considered as a some sort of cyberpunk cult b-movie classic, and it's no wonder why that is the case. It has leather, darkness, violent fights, sorrow, pain, madness, robotics, cybernetics, far-out Net -audiovisuals, certain sexyness, coolness and whole lotta F-U -Attitude. And just look at that movie poster, I mean, just look at it! Not the world's best indie-flick, but worth to watch. Max Headroom: 20 minutes into the future (1985) is a television produced Cyberpunk movie. Even with its oddicities and glumsyness, the movie achieves to tell a interesting stor...

Lauantaina 13.12. Pispalan kirjastolla

Pispalan kirjastolla kokoonnuttiin SuperNörttiLauantai: Pelipäivät -tapahtumien sarjan päättävässä Luolapelipäivä-teemaisessa tapahtumassa. Lisäksi juhlimme Reetun synttäreitä muta- ja suklaakakuilla, limulla ja mehuilla, ja kekseillä. Kivaa oli! Pelejä pelattiin, kirjoja luettiin, lehtiä myös, ja juteltiin. Porukkaa kävi myös tutustumassa kirjastoon. Kirjamyyntiä oli mukavasti, Pispalan kirjasto ry:n jäsenyyttäkin män kaupaksi. Kävijöitä oli yhteensä 15 hlöä. Kaiken kaikkiaan vallan kiva, onnistunut häppeninki, ja hyvä päätös tapahtumien sarjalle! -Kiitoksia SuperNörttiLauantai: Pelipäivissä käyneille!-

Lunkisti lautapelaillen: Inkan Aarre

Oikein mainiota kesää kaikille! Juhannuksena kokoonnuimme pienellä porukalla viettämään mukavaa juhannusta selvinpäin. Kävellen, rupatellen, syöden, limuja ja vissyä juoden, naureskellen, musiikkia kuunnellen ja lautapelejä pelaten. Lainasin etukäteen Sampolasta kirjaston puolelta muutaman lautapelin Juhannustelua vasrten. Yksi näistä oli Afrikan Tähden suunnittelijan uudempi jatko-osa-peli, Inkan Aarre. Näillä polttavan kuumilla ennätyshellekeleillä ei vaadi kauheasti mielikuvitusta, kuvitella matkaavansa kuumassa Etelä-Amerikassa. Tai Afrikan mantereella. Afrikan Tähti oli meille kaikille tuttu, kuten varmaan lähes kaikille suomalaisille lautapelaajille. Inkan Aarretta meistä ei ollut kukaan aiemmin pelannut. Päätimme siis kokeilla, millaista on pelata Inkan Aarretta. Inkan Aarre on Afrikan Tähden suunnittelijan tekemä uudempi peli. Käytännössä, jos osaat pelata Afrikan Tähteä, osaat pelata Inkan Aarretta. Afrikan Tähti lautoineen sijoittuu Afrikan mantereelle ja Inkan aarre Etelä-Am...

Naming couple of bad apples in RPG industry

Homosatus Illuminatus Maximus -Maximal Homosation (Maksimaalista homosaatiota)

Homosatus Illuminatus Maximus -Maximal Homosation is a very satiric parody game of the really weird prejudices about homosexual people.  We all know that gay people are not running a huge secret conspiracy that plans to make all the people turn into flaming homosexuals. Despite the obvious facts, some people still act like it's an honest threat to heterosexual society.  This recent TSR dumpster fire fiasco extravaganza showed the gaming community that there really are people who are aggressively against the human rights of glbtiQah+ people. Even to the tragicomic point where that dimwitted ranting is so hilariously stupid that it's almost funny. Sadly those views are not just outside our gaming community. They are also inside the community. As a game designer and spreader of tabletop RPG enthusiasm, I wanted to sort of stand to the platform and try to make at least one parodic roleplaying game in the gaming world, where gay people have Divine Gay Powers turning the World int...

Joulukuussa viimeinen SuperNörttiLauantai: Pelipäivä

Joulukuussa Pelipäivien tapahtumasarja huipentuu ja päättyy Luolastopelipäivään Lauantaina 13.12. SuperNörttiLauantai: Pelipäivien -tapahtumasarja huipentuu mainiosti luolastoteemaiseen pelipäivään. Samalla tapahtuma on tapahtumasarjan viimeinen tapahtuma. Luolastopelipäivä pidetään Tampereella Pispalan kirjastossa la 13.12. klo 14-18. Tarjolla on useampikin luolasto- ja tunnelipeli. Luolastopelipäivän peleinä kävijät saavat nauttia niin vanhoista luolakomppaamisen klassikoista kuin uudemmastakin materiaalista. Uusimmat pelit ovat par'aikaa pelitestauksessa! Dungeon! peli on melkoisen iso ja näyttävä pelattava Pelivalikoimassa on tietenkin lähes itsestäänselvänä klassikkona Dungeon! -lautapeli , joka on inspiroinut Dungeon & Dragons -roolipelin suunnittelijoita. Pelattavana Luolastopelipäivässä on Dungeon!:in uusin versio, vuodelta 2014.  Labyrintti -korttipelin äärellä on vallan lystiä pelatessa! Tolkienia ja Tolkienin poikaa, enää ei ole elossa kumpaakaan. Rauha muistoilleen.

Helöy armaat rakkaat blogini lukijat! Toivoisin, että viettäisimme yhdessä hiljaisen hetken sen muistoksi, että sekä J.R.R. Tolkien, että hänen teoksiaan viimeistellyt ja loppuunsaattanut, nuorin poikansa, Christopher Tolkien, ovat nyt molemmat poistuneet keskuudestamme. Surullisena täten Teille on todettava, että  John Ronald Reuel Tolkienin poika  Christopher Tolkien on lähtenyt Kontuun. Hyvää matkaa! Olkoon matkasi antoisa!  💗 Olen aina pitänyt kovasti Silmarillionista ja arvostanut suuresti muutakin Richardin kunnianarvoisaa työskentelyä, saattaa isänsä keskenjääneitä teoksia päätökseen.  Silmarillion, ja Keskeneräisten tarujen kirja, ovat minusta aidosti Hobbitin ja tiettyjen Tolkienin satukirjojen ohella täyttä parhautta.  Osanottoni omaisilleen, suruanne kunnioittaen , Krisse Tuominen, fantasiakirjallisuuden suurkuluttaja ja Tolkien-entusiasti.

(Audio-)Visuals, visions, ideas and inspirational material for dark science-fiction gaming Yours Truly, Krisse Tuominen, the modern Nomad in the Cyberpunk 2020 World, where we're living Especially the game masters and game moderator, strorytellers, chronicle writers and so on, who like to homebrew, modify, convert, and make material from the scratch, enjoy the search for inspirational material. And at least I like when I here about something cool and usable to my personal tastes, interests and to use with my dipplings and dapplings in adventure making and game modifying... And that's why I like to interact internationally with veteran gamers, new gamers, game designers, and so on, because it is so satisfying to find something that is new to me, to freshen up my material that is sometimes maybe too much in roots of roleplaying games, and not so much into new ways of playing and gaming. But I am slowly getting there, tasting new games and new revisided editions...
