Heist Ahoy, here we go  to the Pocket Quest ! This is already my third blog (here's the second ) text about the process and the progress of making mini TTRPG during the Pocket Quest 2024 jam. Pocket Quest is a thematic game development jam. This year's theme is "Heists!". And yes, I call my quirky little game Heist Ahoy!  On the official information material of Pocket Quest 2024, there are some suggestions for different kinds of heists to be used in the game you're making. I copy pasted at least some of it to my own sketch text file. Pocket Quest 2024 is here

 Hello active readers, watchers, and viewers! Pocket Quest is a thematic annual game-designing jam, held by DriveThruRPG . This time the theme is "Heists!". Games submitted to the jam should be Rules Lite and the maximum page count is 25 pages. There are also some other rules, eg. no AI-created material allowed in the game. The Pocket Quest has available some Pocket Quest resource material and an art material package . Both are free. You can also get more ideas and information from the jam-running team. They have also their own discord page. So, it is pretty easy to get on the bandwagon. I try my best to make my own game for the Pocket Quest 2024. I am not so much into the theme of the year, but I love the jam concept, the resources, the look the style, and the joyously humorous art of the Pocket Quest. I am also digging the fact, that the jam is really professionally run. As an indie game creator, I am not spitting on chances to get cooperation, sincere help, and well-made ...

Inspirational things for me as a game designer

These things have inspired me in my recent RPG projects I am usually multi-tasking and there are usually several game tests and developments going on at the same time. Therefore it's impossible to name a single inspiration for my recent RPG project of mine. So, instead of classically naming the one inspirational thing for the latest publication, I'll do this a bit differently. Here are some inspirations, reasons, and reasonings behind my most recent RPG projects and products.  * The sheer need for a certain kind of gaming system, character development style, or setting.  Felt certain things myself and found like-minded people and we have been building the game and its settings around our shared and personal nerds combined... This resulted in several minigames this far and a whole lotta things under the works. * My stutter, autism, ADD, and dyslexia combined bring a whole lotta weird words and sayings that can become ongoing puns. Or to evolve into game/scenario/entity/setting/...

  Vitnessii, vätnessii ja vilosofiaa - blogin joulukalenterin luukku numero 5 Luukun viisi, takaa raottuu valokuva, jonka olen ottanut HH-Gymillä valmentaessani tiimiläisiäni. Treenien ohella menossa erään kehittelyn alla olevan mini-freeform-(live)-roolipelin ratkaisumekaniikan testailu. Venäläisillä pelikorteilla. Totta kai.  Kakarasta asti on tullut omaksi ja muitten iloksi väsäiltyä kaikenlaista omaa viihdykettä. Omia lauta- ja pelikortteja, leikkejä, roolipelin yritelmiä. Sittemmin tajunnut, että muitakin kiinnostaa yllättävän  paljon, jos omia tuotoksiaan pistää välillä esille muittenkin hankittavaksi ja pelattavaksi. Huomenna on jälleen uuden luukun aika.
